The BBC has reported winds of up to 80mph (129kmh) on Monday in the East, stating that at the height of the storm 300,000 households in the region were without power.
Additionally, UK Power Networks reported up to 8,000 properties were without power in Suffolk, along with 6,800 in Essex and a further 200 in Hertfordshire.
From our own experience it is our view that home generators will be commonplace in the future.
