In October 2013, Britain was battered by one of the worst storms in history.
We were dealt hurricane-force gusts of wind up to 100mph along with such a torrential downpoor for weeks after that certain parts of the country were thrown into flood chaos. Ferocious St Jude was likened to the Great Storm of 1987 and many houses were left without power. The storms continued throughout the winter, with many families still without power over the Christmas period.
Looting was reported in some areas.
